I have Linux Mint 4.0 installed on my Hard Drive, and I need to install Windows XP Media Center Edition?

I want to be able to do this without affecting the Linux installation, or would it be better to install XP first then reinstall Linux.

I have Linux Mint 4.0 installed on my Hard Drive, and I need to install Windows XP Media Center Edition?
Since Windows will [rudely] wipe your MBR and cause Linux not to boot, I expect reinstalling Linux after Windows is a reasonable approach.

You could also make and then restore a backup of the MBR using Linux - if you know how, it's simple. But so is just redoing Linux.

PCLinuxOS here - along with Kubuntu, Fedora, Mandriva, whatever. Lots of experience on restoring Grub from wayward installs of whatever!

Good luck!
Reply:How much time do you want to put into this?

If you have XP partitions in place, install XP and when that is running properly, reinstall grub. Use google to read up on how to reinstall grub under Mint.

If you don't have XP partitions, the question is if you can install windoze after linux or not. My dell laptop has a hidden dos utility partition first, so XP does not have to be first - so it may work to install XP, just shrink the linux partitions tocreate the space. But you will still need to reinstall grub. I don't think you can move the linux partitions back to put XP first - Mint will be looking for the old locations.

When push comes to shove and nothing works. Install XP and then install Linux - and set up a separate /home partition.
Reply:it has been my experience to install windows first because windows does not function at all in a Linux enviroment. so uninstall Linux fdisk the linux partition so you have a Windows NTFS partition and a Linux partition then install windows then setup dual boot and install Linux
Reply:That's why I always set up Linux with separate / and /home partitions. It makes restoring much less of a hassle.

I did a quick look on the internet. It appears that you can restore GRUB by following these simple steps:

1. Boot a LiveCD and open a terminal.

2. Enter "grub".

3. Enter "find /boot/grub/stage1"

You'll get something like: (hd0,2)

4. Enter "root (whatever result you got)

5. Enter "setup (hd0)

6. Enter "quit"
Reply:yeah it'd be better to just install Windows and reinstall Linux. Or you could install XP and just use a grub boot disk to install grub

I think it MIGHT be possible to configure the Windows bootloader to boot Linux, since that's kinda what the wubi installer does.

I am terrified that Wrigley will pull the Orbit Mint Mojito gum off the market...what are your thoughts?

I only feel this because I think that most people don't know what a Mojito is, so they will not try the gum. However, it seems that Wrigley only seems to be coming out with new products and not pulling less popular ones off the market, like Coca Cola or Pepsi have been doing for the past several years. Logically, I suppose, if they were to pull any of the Orbit gum flavors, it would be that nasty Lemon-Lime, which tastes like floor cleaner.

I am terrified that Wrigley will pull the Orbit Mint Mojito gum off the market...what are your thoughts?
Write to them!! I wrote to them when Eclipse mints came and said "You need a cinnamon version!!" And they came out with one! Demand was high enough that they created it, but they would never know there was a demand if they didn't hear directly from the consumers. I really believe that.

Having said that, I don't think you have anything to fear. Their marketing strategy for the Mint Mojito flavor is skewed younger and the younger [18 - 35] consumers know what a Mojito is. Most of them even know how to spell it.

Stay focused and positive! And if you're really that worried, stock up!
Reply:I'm glad my "Best Answer" soothed your fear! Don't forget to write to them! Go to the Wrigley website and look for a consumer feedback link! Report It
Reply:I love Orbit gum. I tried the Lemon-Lime and it is very bad. I have not tried the Mojito but I might try it. They probably need to advertise it a bit more.
Reply:don't be, if they haven't pulled those flavors that aren't selling well then then there will be a chane that they won't pull your stuff. you can always buy a bunch when you go to the store so you wont run out

I am trying to configure Bluetooth on Linux Mint 4.0 for a friend and I can't make head nor tail of it?

I don't have any Bluetooth devices, so any help will be most appreciated.

I am trying to configure Bluetooth on Linux Mint 4.0 for a friend and I can't make head nor tail of it?
Hi, bluetooth should already be configured as almost all bletooth devices r installed without any problems. In kde there is already a program for managing bluetooth connections and in gnome u have other packages for managing bluetooth which u may have to install then just use bluetooth.

Since Mint 4.0 is based on Ubuntu 7.10 then its all plug and play.

Good Luck!
Reply:You have no bluetooth devices, but you are trying to configure Mint to use bluetooth? So you like to try configuring things that you don't have or need, for the experience, or what? Which scanner have you installed? How did it test out? What about digital pads, or some esoteric controller software for interacting with and controlling one of the older model Cray supercomputers?
Reply:Well as you know, Linux mint is based on ubuntu so this may be helpful:

What are the benefits of Mint and mint tea?

The leaf, fresh or dried, is the culinary source of mint. Fresh mint is usually preferred over dried mint when storage of the mint is not a problem. The leaves have a pleasant warm, fresh, aromatic, sweet flavor with a cool aftertaste. Mint leaves are used in teas, beverages, jellies, syrups, candies, and ice creams. In Middle Eastern cuisine mint is used on lamb dishes. In British cuisine, mint sauce is popular with lamb.

Mint is a necessary ingredient in Touareg tea, a popular tea in northern African and Arab countries.

Alcoholic drinks sometimes feature flavor of mint, namely the Mint Julep and the Mojito. Crème de menthe is a mint-flavored liqueur used in drinks such as the grasshopper.

Mint essential oil and menthol are extensively used as flavorings in breath fresheners, drinks, antiseptic mouth rinses, toothpaste, chewing gum, desserts, and candies; see mint (candy) and mint chocolate. The substances that give the mints their characteristic aromas and flavors are menthol (the main aroma of Peppermint, and Japanese Peppermint) and pulegone (in Pennyroyal and Corsican Mint). The compound primarily responsible for the aroma and flavor of spearmint is L-carvone.

Methyl salicylate, commonly called "oil of wintergreen", is often used as a mint flavoring for foods and candies due to its mint-like flavor.

Mints are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Buff Ermine.

[edit] Medicinal and cosmetic

Mint was originally used as a medicinal herb to treat stomach ache and chest pains. During the Middle Ages, powdered mint leaves were used to whiten teeth. Mint tea is a strong diuretic. Mint also aids digestion.

Menthol from mint essential oil (40-90%) is an ingredient of many cosmetics and some perfumes. Menthol and mint essential oil are also much used in medicine as a component of many drugs, and are very popular in aromatherapy.

A common use is as an antipruritic, especially in insect bite treatments (often along with camphor).

Menthol is also used in cigarettes as an additive, because it blocks out the bitter taste of tobacco and soothes the throat.[citation needed]

Many people also believe the strong, sharp flavor and scent of Mint can be used as a mild decongestant for illnesses such as the common cold.

In Rome, Pliny recommended that a wreath of mint was a good thing for students to wear since it was thought to "exhilarate their minds". Some modern research suggests that he was right.[citation needed]

[edit] Insecticides

Mint leaves are often used by many campers to repel mosquitoes. It is also said that extracts from mint leaves have a particular mosquito-killing capability.

Mint oil is also used as an environmentally-friendly insecticide for its ability to kill some common pests like wasps, hornets, ants and cockroaches.

What are the benefits of Mint and mint tea?
Mint is a herb and so pure mint tea does'nt contain caffeine.Quite often mint is consumed after meals as the oils stimulate the flow of bile to the stomach and helps relieve gas pains.Mint sweetens the breath and calms the digestive system, plus it helps heartburn, stomach ache and nausea.

Mint contains B vitamins, calcium and potassium.

Mint is known to contain a phytonutrient called perillyl alcohol, which has been shown in studies on animals to prevent the formation of colon, skin and lung cancer.

You have to take care to cover the preparation while mint tea is steeping. This prevents the valuable volatile oils from evaporating.

What are the negative effects of eating too much mint?

My girlfriend wud just not stop eating loads of pepper mint candy..I ve heard it can cause stomach problems and sterility..is it true? Are there any other problems caused by this

What are the negative effects of eating too much mint?
bad teeth and weight gain come to mind right away. Diabetes...It's estimated that the average American eats almost his or her entire body weight in sugar every year. Cancer cells love sugar. It's their preferred fuel. The more sugar you eat, the faster cancer cells grow. Your pancreas responds to sugar by releasing insulin, the hormone that escorts sugar into your cells. When you eat refined simple sugars, such as white table sugar, candy, cookies, or other sugar-laden foods, your blood sugar levels rise very quickly. Your pancreas responds by releasing a lot of insulin. That's not good. High insulin levels are one of the biggest risk factors and promoters of breast cancer. Women with high insulin levels have a 283 percent greater risk of breast cancer. The list goes on and on...
Reply:Theres aspratime (sp?) in it and that's been linked to brain cancer.

Mint is very healthy and has been used since Roman times to ease stomach problems. Sterility???? Please! You're fine.

It's healthy. Good for the stomach and breath.

What is the order for issuing dollar presidential coins from the us mint?

Lots of interest in the Presidential Dollar Series this week... It's the mint's latest effort toward a circulating one dollar US coin.

Whether it ever circulates to any extent, it's still an interesting series for collectors, especially if you are just starting out in coin collecting.

There will be one coin issued for each President, providing he or she has not been living at least two years prior to issuance of the coin. The coins are being issued in the order each president served.

What is the order for issuing dollar presidential coins from the us mint?
They are being issued in the order the Presidents served at 4 per year, first four already issued and number 5, Monroe is out or should be soon. As to when they will be available may be different due to the mints schedule and any special ceremonies that may happen.
Reply:They are being issued in order of the first president to the most recent. Four coins (presidents) per year. They started making them last year, so presidents 5-8 come out this year (Monroe,JQ Adams, Jackson, and Van Buren) . Below is a website to the whole list of presidents.

How to stop bugs eating my mint plants.?

If you go to a garden store, you may be able to buy ladybugs or praying mantis eggs. I know that my local garden center has them. These other insects may eat the bugs on your plants.

Also do some research on companion planting. By planting some flowers, for example, Marigolds, bugs can be detered.

How to stop bugs eating my mint plants.?
Get spray that kills bugs/insects that are for plants. You spray on the leaves and they will leave it alone.

How much does a mint condition atari console run for?

I have a mint atari game with all controllers and 25 games also in mint condition and was wondering what I could sell it for

How much does a mint condition atari console run for?
It depends on which console you have (there were four Atari systems; 2600, 5600, 72000 and the Atari Jaguar.) Unless you have a really rare game or something uncommon, you won't get much for the games. A great site to check prices for both your consoles price and the prices of your games is digitpress.com

Sadly, Atari systems don't sell for a lot (at the least the orginal) the others run around $25+

How much dried mint is equal to fresh mint?

When herbs are dried, doesn't matter which one, the flavors become concentrated and more potent. Dry herbs are typically three times as strong as their fresh counterparts.

When it comes to most mints the dreid and fresh are equally potent in the equal amounts.

In 1995, over US$380 billion were in circulation, of which two-thirds was outside the United States. By 2005 that figure had doubled to nearly $760 billion with an estimated half to two-thirds being held overseas [1], which is an annual growth of about 6.6%.

How long does my mint seeds will take to grow?

About two weeks is what I remember, but the folks at Backyard Gardener say 7-10 days to sprout (germinate).

From there it just keeps growing as you trim the top for leaves.

How long does my mint seeds will take to grow?
Mint does not always grow true to type from seed,Ask your friends and family if they have a root off their plant you could have. you could collect several different types of mint all for free.
Reply:Mint seed will germinate within a few days
Reply:Its really not necessary to use seed,as breaking any bit with a root on it,from a friends patch will grow quite easily.Just yank it out of the ground
Reply:Don't do it except in a container. Mint is like an invasive weed and once it starts growing you can't hardly kill it.
Reply:Depending on the time of year, I planted some organic seeds 4 weeks ago and they have just started to shoot up, though once mint starts to show its shoots, it grows quickly and spreads easily. Best to keep in a pot

Am I supposed to pull the leaves off of my mint plant? It's very healthy and big but weighing it's self down

if so, how do I store it?

Am I supposed to pull the leaves off of my mint plant? It's very healthy and big but weighing it's self down
I would cut the plant way back so that it will bush out more and not fall over. Use the leaves that you have cut off to dry or use in cooking.
Reply:If you're talking about the herb mint, then by all means you need to pull the leaves and use them in tea, cooking, etc. You could dry it and use it later if you wanted. Quite tasty!
Reply:I've heard that the best way to harvest mint is to cut the entire stem, probably for you the ones that are falling over, and bundle them. hang them upside down in a warm, dark, dry place for a few days until they are dry. Then strip the leaves and store them. I put mine in ziploc bags and then use them for potpourri or tea. When you cut it back it just produces more. Mint is prolific that way.
Reply:Yes you can dry the leaves and also if you cut stems shorter, they will branch out more. I do that to mine.
Reply:YES, YOU CAN. YOU CAN DRY IT OUT ,YOU CAN WASH AND DRY IT OFF AND THEN FREEZE IT. YOU CAN FOOD PROCESS IT AND USE IT ON FRESH PORK WHEN YOU COOK IT.YOU CAN USE IT AS A BREATH FRESHENER

Does a mint condition '65 Ford Falcon get good gas mileage?

I just want to know if I'll be paying out my as$ for gas with my new car.

Does a mint condition '65 Ford Falcon get good gas mileage?
It should if it is in mint condition. I had a 1963 Ford Falcon. It had a straight six, 289 engine. It gave me 34 mpg on a cross country trip when it was fifteen years old. If the car has been kept up in its 40 plus years you'll have a pretty economical classic car in your garage.

My Falcon was "kidnapped and murdered" in Kansas City in the fall of 1978. Stolen and wrecked and dumpped in the bottom of a deep gulley! It was like a member of the family had been killed.

I stand corrected. Thank you to the folks who answered after me.
Reply:Depends on the engine and axle ratio. I have a 63 with a 144 gets 25, though my 62 was standard transmission and got around 30 highway.

289 is an 8 cyl
Reply:its a chick magnet
Reply:Does your falcon have a strait 6 or 289?
Reply:Okay a mint 65 falcon with what engine, what carb, what transmition. Okay for them most part, any of the cars made before gas was the same as liquid gold era use gas. The engines are not as reliable as a new car. Computers to run the car engine Ha! Back then a computer was the size of a warehouse and projected that as they became faster their size would only increase!

I see from EBay that 65 Falcons had a 4 cylinder up to a 8 cylinder, so the 4 cylinder would get better gas than the 8.
Reply:Who cares, you have a mint '65 Ford Falcon! Your so lucky.

but really if it is mint then the engine is mint too , then somebody took the time to change the valves in the head or in some really lucky case heads! because unleaded gas will wear them down ... newer engines have internal parts that don't need the lead that use to be supply for that year of car

back in 65 yeah I was 13 and my sister own a '65 Comet Elimalator 302 dual exhaust

oh sorry got away there she was get 12mpg the six cyclinders were getting 18 plus

BUT AGAIN WHO CARES - I personally would keep it always in eye view or locked up

LIve long - enjoy
Reply:It absolutely does not have good gas mileage. It'll cost you a fortune unless you don't have far to drive.
Reply:i would guess 24 mpg or better but remember this car was made to run leaded gas so you will probably need to run a fuel additive which will put you back to the expense of not saving on gas
Reply:it depends is it stock or hopped up go a 70 camero 327 vet gas mileage sucks put that's the price you pay
Reply:I drive a 63 Country sedan wagon (galaxie ) every day, 289 2 barrel, 21.1 MPG on the highway. I have no idea why some guy would say not to use it every day. I do, its great. Full frame, not like the run of the mill junk uni bodies made today. Buy it, great car. !
Reply:i drive a 65 ford falcon xp station wagon.fully restored..200 super pursuit 6cyl,2 spd auto..its a good old cruiser and down the hwy i get near 400km out of a $45 tank..it costs alittle more now due to raised fuel costs...of coarse if you drive like a leadfoot you waste fuel.best get a vacume guage so you can see how much fuel you are using ...i just cruz whats the rush ..only plant the foot when you need to..ive had my wagon since 1995 and restored it in 2000...its due to be redone again but this time 302windsor c4 RRSstrut front and RRSpower steering rack....one thing i found if you really like your car and intend to keep it ,find a cheap spare car for parts..i picked another xp fairmont wagon up for$300Australian..good parts separatly arent cheap
Reply:It's a classic. Gas mileage doesn't matter. It could, but should not be driven for normal commutes.

Note: The 289 was a V8. I think the in-line was a 232. Ford made one big six, the 300, for trucks at that time.
Reply:it wont be too bad if its a straight 6

One thing you should understand is that the 1935H series bills were actually printed in the 1960s, when Kathryn O’Hay Granahan was the Treasurer and C. Douglas Dillon was the Secretary of the Treasury. The bill has their signatures.

How do you obtain a bag of uncirculated quarters from the U.S. Mint?

How do you obtain a bag of uncirculated quarters from the U.S. Mint?
It's very easy, actually. Go to the US Mint's web site at http://www.usmint.gov and then go to the Shop Online link.
Reply:I would think that just dumping them into a bag would lower their value since they are rubbing, bumping, and scratching each other (called "bag marks"). If you want the best condition you need ones that are treated better than bagging (like in rolls maybe).
Reply:The mint does have a web-page, but I don't remember them offering bags of quarters. Otherwise, you can check with your bank.

Candy sweet shops make a mint and a lot of lolly by producing allsorts of flavours?

Humbug! They do it for the cLove of it, especially in Imperial Pontefract, where they`re very Hard Boiled and Bertie is the boss! However I hope their enthusiasm doesn`t turn to Jelly, where they find themselves facing a Flump, and end up Hundreds and Thousands in debt!......That would suck!

Why do guitars and amps in perfect mint condition sell for so cheap on Ebay?

I have a mesa boogie stiletto head I bought in early 2005 in perfect condition and was thinking about selling it on ebay. I bought it for $1,600.00. The highest I have seen one of these amps in mint condition go for is about $1,000. Is this market not popular on ebay or what?

Why do guitars and amps in perfect mint condition sell for so cheap on Ebay?
Many sellers use eBay as a garage sale and are happy to get whatever they can for an item. Many buyers are looking for a bargain. They know the can pay $1600 for a new one at Guitar Center with a warranty, but they would rather pay $1000 for a slightly used one without it.

As for selling your amp – you have to figure out what is worth to you or how bad you need the money. If you feel you cannot take a $600 hit on it, than keep it…if you need to unload it for cash…well you might have to.
Reply:Maybe they are stolen.

I know someone who sold $40,000 worth of glassware on e-Bay last year. That was more than 1200 sales. She only broke even. She said that it is her hobby.

If people are willing to sell at prices so low that they make no profit, they lower prices for everyone.
Reply:you might have gotten ripped of. either that or people don't want to pay that much for a newer guitar because vintages are usually more expensive.
Reply:There is the shipping costs, the risk of being ripped of on ebay, and the risk thatthe amp will be damaged in transit. All those will affect potential bidders willingness to bid.

I recently planted some mint seed from a well known supplier but what grew did not smell or look like mint?

Now the plants are about 9ins tall have small white flowers on them and these are turning into small green berries. Any ideas what these seeds are ?

I recently planted some mint seed from a well known supplier but what grew did not smell or look like mint?
I fell for the mint seed ploy as well...what I got to grow from my "peppermint" seeds was quite a ranky cousin of the mint.

The most research I did on mint seeds was quite disheartening. Basically everything I found said the same thing...they're sterile (peppermint seeds), and fyi peppermint is a hybrid between a water mint and a spearmint.

If possible ask a friend for a cutting of their mint or buy a mint already started.

As for what you got to grow, I haven't a clue...

"Japanese mint (M. arvensis var. Piperescens), peppermint (M. xpipita), and spearmint (M. spicata) are the species mostly cultivated.

All mints can be propagated by cuttings or seeds except peppermint, since it is a sterile F1 hybrid of M. aquatica and M. spicata. Peppermint does not produce seeds and can only be propagated by cuttings.

Mints can be planted in full sun or partial shade, and require rich, well-drained soil with a soil pH of 6.5. Mint can be harvested almost as soon as it comes up in the spring. Young, tender leaves and stems are the best. Mint is susceptible to verticillium wilt, mint rust, and mint anthracnose. The pests that could bother mint include spider mites, loopers, mint flea beetles, mint root borers, cutworms, root weevils, and aphids.

Oregano"
Reply:Definetly not mint plants. I don't really know but mint can't be mistaken. In fact it multiplies and comes back every year.
Reply:Sounds like coriander
Reply:Are you sure these are from the seeds you planted?

It may well be some weed which grew where you put you mint seeds %26amp; snuffed them.

Post a picture of this plant, I'm sure somebody will be able to reconize it %26amp; extend more help.
Reply:Members of the mint family are recognized by their square stems. They mostly all have opposite pairs of leaves also. If your plant lacks these characteristics it isn't even in the family Lamiaceae.

M any mint are hybrids and do not come true from seed. This is why mint plants are grown from cuttings. Possibly even the knowledgeable retailer may get fooled.

Peppermint (mentha x piperita) is a 99%+ sterile hybrid between Mentha spicata (Spearmint or English mint) and Mentha aquatica (Water mint). So when it does germinate it is just a poor quality spearmint plant.

here is a grower for mints

Reply:It sounds like cilantro (break a leaf %26amp; smell it). The leaves look similar to parsely %26amp; the seeds are coriander.

Any one know how to make the mint sauce i get from the tandoori that goes on chicken tikka?

5oz tub natural yogurt

1 teaspoons of mint sauce

1/4 teaspoon of sugar

pinch salt

pinch chilli powder

Mix well, add a small amount of milk or water if its too thick.

Add to sliced onion, tomatoes and cucumber, lovely.

Any one know how to make the mint sauce i get from the tandoori that goes on chicken tikka?
natural yoghurt

finely chopped fresh mint (not spearmint)

salt pepper

a pinch of sugar.

Mix well in a bowl. You will need a lot of mint and it won't taste exactly the same. Most takeaways buy it in bulk to save the hassle. For this reason they usually add large amounts of preservative which you can't (and probably don't want to!) replicate at home. You can also add a little garlic. Some supermarkets now sell jars of it. Brands like Pataks have a range of sauces and pickles.
Reply:That would be a Mint Yogurt Raita, here's a good recipe for it:

Yogurt Raita

250g plain yougurt

1 finely chopped onion

2 green chillies finely chopped

2 tbsp fresh mint finely chopped ( do NOT use mint sauce!!)

2 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped

1 tsp roasted cumin powder

Beat the yogurt with a little milk (add dops of milk til you have the right consistency). Stir in all the other ingredients. You can add cucumber to it if you like too.
Reply:much the same as the above answers but i always put in peeled cucumber, chopped and chill in the fridge. yummy

1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, finely chopped

1/2 cup plain yogurt

1 garlic clove, minced

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

salt and pepper to taste
Reply:Yep!!!

Its actually plain yogurt, mixed with mint sauce. The proportions you need to mess with a little to get it right.

I also make it with mayonaise for salads - yummy!
Reply:I normally use natural yoghurt and mint sauce consentrate finally I add a sprinkle of chilli powder

fresh mint : 1 bunch

1 teaspoon vinegar1teaspoon salt in a pan and boil it get some mint leaves chop them finely put them in a bowl and pour the hot mixture of sugar salt and vinegar on top of the mint and leave to cool. happy cooking oh sorry i forgot to say you need 3 teaspoons of mint

I go to eBay when I need to price a card. Remember that eBay prices do not reflect what is published in Beckett. Its closer to a third or a quarter. See a card selling for $10.00 then it's book price is closer to $30.00-$40.00.

Can i substitute the normal mint plant for catnip?

im planning to do this cause i cant find catnip anywhere.. sigh...

Can i substitute the normal mint plant for catnip?
Hi there again...catnip is the only mint plant which contains the ingredient "nepetalactone". None of the other mint plants can produce the same results which is why catnip variety (Nepeta cataria) is very effective for cats.

Here's another helpful idea...I found website for Philippine Cat Lovers Society. They most likely will know where one could purchase the live plant or seeds: http://www.pcls.com.ph/

Also consider joining this Yahoo group which is for Philippine cat owners: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/magpupusa/... You will be able to post a question here once you've joined (free membership) and find someone who may have answer to locate the catnip plant.
Reply:Catnip is in the mint family but I don't think a cat would accept it as a cat exciting drug. Look on-line for catnip or go to a large nursery that might have that variety of herbs.

Substituting like that is equivalent to if you had a druggie friend who was looking for "grass" and you told him you have a whole lawn of grass.
Reply:Where do you live? Catnip is a very hardy plant. Grow your own.

http://www.gardenguides.com/seedcatalog/...

The trick is to keep cat off the immature plant seedling until it grows into something worthwhile. If you plant it out side every stray in the neighbor hood shows up. Plant it inside in a big pot in a room the cats don't go in. It's pretty.
Reply:You can try it but I don't think it will have an effect. You can't sub powdered sugar to a crack head
Reply:No, we grew it, and the cats were like immune to it. You must find cat nip, and better yet, if they have had only canned cat nip, they might not like the fresh stuff. Cats can get pretty picky sometimes.
Reply:Nope while catnip is in th mint family....regular mint doesn't have the same effect. Sorry.
Reply:You can by it on-line. Cat's won't respond to mint like they do to 'nip.

There is something in cat nip that smells like a cat pheromone and that is what sets the little guys off!
Reply:Since you are so into wanting to know about cat nip here are some site

How do you sliver mint leaves?

When I want to make small slivers of mint or basil I also roll them, but I use a pair of sharp scissors ( I bought a pair of hair salon shears for my kitchen) to cut small strips without bruising.

How do you sliver mint leaves?
You get a couple mint leaves together and roll them like a cigarette. Then you slice the wad that you created very finely the short way and you end up with little "slivers" of mint. Is this for a mojito? If so, you might want to blend them.
Reply:Well I have mint leaves in my backyard and I roll the leaves into a bundle and then cut the leaves the way where they're short and you end up with lots of little mint leaf slivers!

Should i get the mint chocolate or the samsung u740?

i really need your help i have no idea which 1 i should get please help! i really lyk both i just cant choose!

Should i get the mint chocolate or the samsung u740?
If the mint chocolate is a Motorola phone, I would get it. I personally think the craftsmanship of Motorola is better than Samsung.
Reply:i would recommend the chocolate.

it has better features and LG is a great quality brand, not to say samsung isn't.

also, i'd be afraid to accidently break the hinges on the u740.
Reply:forget the chocolate... it's a dang (gotta watch my language) slider phone, and those are pointless. i went to phonescoop, did a side by side comparison

Chocolate

bigger screen

Data capable

predictive text

voice memo

AD2P

u740

Not data capable, on predictive text (has a qwerty keyboard layout tho) and no voice memo

DOES have a usb port

Doesn't vibrate? (may wanna check on that one)

doesn't have AD2P (where u can have bluetooth headphones to listen to music)

if you're a music fan, and plan on listening to music thru bluetooth, go with the chocolate. it seems to be the more advanced phone out of the two. but if you're into texting, and feel the QWERTY keyboard would help, plus the dual flip hinge on the u740 then go with it.

As much as i dont like sliders, i'd have to vote chocolate, but why mint? lol jk

Is there any good way to get rid of dog's bad breath beside brushing, mint or dental treatment?

Yes, switch to a high quality dog food such as Canadae.

Bad food = bad breath and stinky poop

Is there any good way to get rid of dog's bad breath beside brushing, mint or dental treatment?
there are dog treats out there that are for cleaning and freshining breath, you could go to the pet store and ask the peple there and see what they say
Reply:There is usually different types of food that you can feed your dog that controls their breath.
Reply:What are you feeding your dog? Is it wet or dry food? If it's wet, tarter can build up on their teeth and cause dental issues, as well as bad breath. If your feeding your dog wet food, make sure your giving your dog biscuits to help loosen up tarter.
Reply:Nope. Bad breath is due to bacteria in the mouth. My dog chews on lots of things to help his teeth, but I have found that only regular brushing will eliminate doggie breath.

However, I use the special doggie toothpaste that is chicken or beef flavored, so he loves to get his teeth brushed.

Mind you, I don't like to brush his teeth, because he tries to lick the brush, as I try to brush his teeth... but he thinks that it is a very tasty game.
Reply:Yes, my basset hound was on the BARF (Bones And Raw Food) diet for years. His teeth are white white white. He eats four fresh RAW chicken wings every day. The crunching bone is great for cleaning the teeth.
Reply:The first thing you should do is ask the dog's vet why his breath is bad. There could be a digestive or other health problem. The dog may also need his/her teeth cleaned by the vet.

In the meantime, try adding a little "probiotics" to your dog's food; you can get this powder at a health food store, humans can use it too. If you are feeding your dog nothing but canned food and kibble, try some fresh food, try giving him/her fresh cooked food such as carrots, peas, green beans, cooked in fresh - not canned - chicken broth, along with the chicken, and you can add some rice too.

You can also go all the way and try the raw diet for dogs, but do your research on how to feed properly, google "BARF diet" (stands for Bones and Raw Food) and make sure you check with the vet too.
Reply:Better food and a raw soup bone a week.

P.S. Listen to Debbie H :)))

My Cat LOVES mint toothpaste, is it bad for him?

my cat will chew open toothpaste tubes to get to the paste, he even attacks my face while i am trying to brush, does any one know why he loves it so much, and is there stuff in there that will hurt him?

dont worry i hide my tooth brush and tooth paste since i have found out he will do anything for it...its like catnip to him!

My Cat LOVES mint toothpaste, is it bad for him?
Toothpaste isn't good for cats.

There are compounds in it that damages kidneys and, generally, it's not good for them.

Instead, buy him a mint plant. They're cheap and grow like weeds. He can roll in it to his heart's content, and it's perfectly safe, even healthy for him.
Reply:I'm serious. Why in the hell haven't these dentists found an anti-cavity that is not so unsafe? Report It
Reply:yes it is BAD for them, some toothpaste contains silica and artificial sweeteners among other chemicals which are harmful to animals- people shouldn't swallow toothpaste and cats should definitely NOT eat it. get one of those see through boxes with a snap on lid and keep it away from kitty. It's just like keeping things away from babies.
Reply:Assuming you use fluoridated toothpaste, fluoride is hugely toxic to animals AND humans.

If your cat actually was able to eat the whole tube (without vomiting), the fluoride in a small tube of fluoridated toothpaste would kill the cat.

Children have died from swallowing too many of their fluoride supplements. One child died from swallowing instead of expectorating his fluoride treatment at the dentist.

Fluoridated toothpaste should be kept out of reach of children and animals
Reply:All these answers make me wonder why WE even use the stuff! It just sounds bad...
Reply:Fluoride is toxic to ingest, that is why you are not supposed to swallow it, and toddler toothpaste has no fluoride. Put your toothpaste where the cat can't get at it, (you do), and get some cat mint(different than cat nip) plants. He may have some kind of nutrient deficiency.
Reply:its not good for him, just like the package says, DO NOT SWALLOW, your cat is much smaller than you so it could harm him. put it away in a drawer or cupboard and shut the door when youre brushing!
Reply:Catnip is a plant in the mint family so it could be the mint in the toothpaste has a slightly similar effect as catnip on the cat. I had a cat years ago who would follow me around and try to lick my legs when I put Ben Gay on.

It is definitely not something the cat should be ingesting. Like others have said, humans aren't even supposed to swallow toothpaste so with a cat being about 1/20 the weight of a human it could be actually fatal to them. Keep your toothpaste in a drawer or medicine cabinet.
Reply:It's good that you hide it now. I don't think that would be very good for him since even humans aren't supposed to consume toothpaste, just use it and spit it out. I can relate, my cat loves the smell of room sprays, pledge, any cleaning supplies, makeup, hair products, anything that smells good. He's a trip!
Reply:toothpast can make your cat very sick!
Reply:Human toothpaste is bad for cats and dogs. It is loaded with abrasives for one, another is the chemicals which are in toothpaste are not good for ANYONE to ingest, human or animal. Put the toothpaste in a cabinet that the cat can't open.
Reply:yes dont let him have anymore
Reply:No - and he'll have a great smile
Reply:Yes tooth paste will probably constipate your cat

What happens if you inhale a small tic tac mint?

my daughter just told me that at school today [ shes 11] a friend gave her a tic tac, as she sucked it she breathed in , where is it now?, is it in her lungs?, will it come out?, thanks! xxxxxxxxx

i asked if she could have swollowed it, but she said it definately went in as she breathed,,, shes a bit worried now, help!

What happens if you inhale a small tic tac mint?
thats odd....

I think after a couple of hours it will be gone, if it disoved in your mouth in 5 minutes then it will have dissolved in her lng in the same amount of time dont you reckon. i doubt it could have gone in there but if it did it's long gone, her body ate it instead of her stomach. The human body is good at clearing out bad things from within.
Reply:Did U ever find out anymore about the tic tac?? It happened to me also, did you ever take her to the doctor? Report It
Reply:If it were in her lungs you'd expect her to be coughing. Foreign bodies can cause pneumonia. Perhaps she did breathe it in but it went into her stomach - that's what I would hope happened.
Reply:the tic tac is way to big to go the opening that lets the air into your lungs..... when people choke on something it is because the flap gets pushed closed and then the person cant breath... now if she was under water or had water in her mouth then that could get aspirated into the lungs....

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO
Reply:Yes, it is possible that she inhaled it into her airway and it went into her lung. She may have coughed at first but may not have continued coughing. Watch for signs of infection (Pneumonia) such as coughing, shortness of breath or fever. Her lungs will not just "digest" this like the stomach. Any time a foreign body is in the lungs there is a chance of pneumonia. If she experiances any of these she should see a doctor. You might just call them anyway and get the doc's opinion.
Reply:I'm sure she swallowed it, otherwise she'd have some symptoms by now. Don't worry.
Reply:i agree with the other answers, i'm sure she is fine :) sometimes kids do the silliest stuff...just remember this will stick with her for the rest of her life...you can remind her of this incident on her wedding day...lol :)

- 4 parts Mojito Club

- 1/2 part lime juice

- Sugar

- Mint leaves

Put the chopped flesh of the watermelon in a shaker, crush it slightly and Crush mint leaves in a glass and add Mojito club, lime juice and sugar. Fill with club soda and serve over ice.
Reply:You can purchase fresh mint at most grocery stores in the produce section. For a great mojito, start with a pint glass, then combine:

6-8 sprigs of fresh mint leaves

1/2 a fresh lime, quartered, squeezed, and rind on

2 packets of Sugar in the Raw

then muddle all these ingredients well in the base of a pint glass

you then add:

2 oz. Bacardi Limon (and 1/4 oz. Razzmatazz or Chambord for a raspberry version)

(I personally also like a splash of Cointreau, but that's just me)

and ice. I prefer crushed, but cubed works fine, too-

put a shaker tin over the pint glass, and shake well. Then finish with soda water.

Enjoy!

Does Vanilla Mint Listerine stain your teeth?

To those who've used it regularly, has it stained your teeth at all? I was considering using it, but I read about someone who thought it stained his teeth. I want to keep mine white and bright.

Does Vanilla Mint Listerine stain your teeth?
No this particular brand does not stain your teeth. However hygienists (me) and Dentists alike have noticed that there is a good bit of staining associated with Crest Pro Health Rinse. Also the RX rinse Peridex (Chlorhexadine) does stain a lot. However people that use Peridex usually are perio involved patients, and the benefit outweighs the staining factor. I personally love Vanilla Mint Listerine and use it everyday, no staining involved.
Reply:IDK But it makes your breath smell good and it tastes good
Reply:No, vanilla Listerine strips do not stain your teeth.

It is possible that your friend consumed something that had a slight effect on her teeth while she was using the strips, but the strips themselves do not stain.
Reply:I used the mint and no stains, thanks for asking.
Reply:no but little bits of leaves from the vanilla plant get stuck between your teeth
Reply:It hasn't for me.
Reply:ive never heard of that happening with any listerine - but if it did then vanilla mint wold probably be your best choice anyway because it has the least amount of coloring in it than other flavors.

i think its nasty tasting anyway - ive been using the orange flavor forever and its never stained my teeth at all.
Reply:why would a Listerine stain teeth if it were made for teeth. tea and coffee stain teeth.
Reply:No, Listerine does not stain your teeth. Rinses that stain your teeth are chlorhexidine and anything with stannous fluoride.
Reply:any mouthwash can stain your teeth because it has coloring in it.

some peoples teeth just pick up stain easier than others.

if you want mouthwash that won't possibly stain your teeth go with a whitening type of mouthwash.

What is the difference between MNH & MUH & MINT in relations to stamp collecting?

MNH means Mint, never hinged.

MUH means Mint, unhinged.

MINT means perfect condition, or mint condition

MNH is the highest quality, with nothing wrong.

MUH is the same as MNH.

MINT means never used, or cancelled, but condition is unknown.

What is the difference between MNH %26amp; MUH %26amp; MINT in relations to stamp collecting?
They all mean exactly the same thing. "Mint" means in original condition, so that means it has the original gum and no cancellation.

MNH stands for "mint never hinged" and MUH stands for "mint unhinged". Stamp collectors in the past attached mint stamps to their albums by means of small bits of gummed paper/glassine because that's all that was available to them. These days people use mounts or stock books, reserving hinges for used stamps only. In order to remove the stamp, one would have to disturb the gum, so hinged stamps cannot really be considered mint in the true sense of the word.

In order to distinguish unused stamps of different grade, MNH is used to emphasize that the stamp is really in mint condition, MLH (mint lightly hinged) and MH (mint hinged) indicate unused stamps with gum intact but having a hinge or light marking where a hinge was once affixed.

Hope that clears things up.

What is the value of my 75 plus year old 410 gauge Boitosbs shotgun in mint condition?
The bad news is that if you take a minute to check gunbroker.com, you'll find that Boitos do not command a very high price.

The good news is that practically any .410 bore SxS in mint condition will always bring $350-up. Some quail hunter would love to have the gun!

I have 'cat mint' the reason I know it is because the stem is square, right?

But what then , is Cat Nip? What are either of them for? I don't have cats and I don't like them in my garden(they climb the fence) Is my 'cat mint' attracting them? I want to deter them!

I have 'cat mint' the reason I know it is because the stem is square, right?
Hello,

Nepeta cataria is true catnip, but it is also sometimes called cat mint. There are also some other closely related plants that have the same effect on cats. Catnip does truly attract cats, so if you don't want cats in your garden, and who can blame you if you don't, you will want to totally rid your garden of the catnip.

As for what catnip is for there are a few answers. Some people, myself included, like the looks of it and grow it as an ornamental, others grow it so they can get their cat high, and some eat it, make tea with it, or use it as medicine. If you are interested in learning more the Wikipedia entry on catnip is a good place to start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catnip

If you want something to repel cats try spraying orange oil on your fence. I have heard this works, but have never tried it my self.

Have a great day!

What is the best kind of mint or treat or whatever to buy for a cat for its breath?

MY CATS BREATH RIKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is the best kind of mint or treat or whatever to buy for a cat for its breath?
Usually bad kitty breath is cause by one (or all) of three things... 1) Poor quality food. 2) Poor dental hygiene. 3) Kidney failure.

If it's the first problem, try changing his/her diet to a better quality food and you can also try Pit'r Pat Cat Mints.

If it's bad teeth/gums or kidney problems, take your kitty to a vet.
Reply:Need a vet check first.

Reply:Greenies are great for cats. Also, take your cat to a vet and make sure it doesn't have periodontal disease, which can make its teeth rotten and its breath stinky. It may need a dental cleaning.
Reply:Sounds like you need a cat toothbrush. Check Petsmart.
Reply:Greenies a breath product , is now made for cats too...you can find them at Petco.
Reply:CET makes dental chews and rinse. You can get from your vet. Thats what I use and it seems to work ok. They do need their teeth professionally cleaned at some point as well.
Reply:they have cat and dog breath mints ask your vet where u can find them at
Reply:Without seeing your cat, I am guessing he is having tooth problems, particularly if he's getting on in years. Or he has an ongoing illness. If his breath is really that bad, I am advising a vet check it out. I don't think you want to have all your cat's teeth pulled. If his teeth are in good condition, I really don't know what is causing his bad breath except for an intestinal problem. I honestly don't think "breath mints" are going to solve your problem...mints will only cover up what's really wrong with your cat.
Reply:try brushing its teeth get cat toothpaste from petsmart dont use people toothpaste
Reply:If your cat's breath smells that bad it probably needs a professional dental cleaning from your vet! :-)

How does one get both mint marks(P and D) for the new dollar coins? If you go to the bank they have one not 2?

Either wait until they circulate your way or trade for/buy one.

When you go to the bank do not ask for dollar wraps but ask for their loose ones, they might have one in there.

I recently brought some mint seeds from a well known supplier. What grew was not mint but Black Nghtshade?

As the leaves looked like mint and had I not smelt it i could have used it in the cooking. This plant is poisonous.. My question is do I have a case against the supplier.? They have offered to replace the packet of seed.

I recently brought some mint seeds from a well known supplier. What grew was not mint but Black Nghtshade?
Did you indeed use it for cooking and get sick? If not than I hardly think you have a case.. If you did you would have to provide a doctor's exam/diagnosis that says you were "poisoned by nightshade" and missed work slips etc... The company offered to replace your seeds than that is fair.. In the future buy the actual plant and plant it in your garden...Instead of the seeds.... Good luck

Mint chocolate chip icecream is the best damned flavor on planet earth. Do you agree? :-)?
OMG! I remember the year mint chocolate chip ice cream came out - it was the summer of 1969, the same time as Man's first walk on the moon. We used to take our boat to Shelter Island, NY, and dock at Picozzi's. We were actually in Deering Harbor - a gorgeous little spot. Anyway, as soon as we always were safely in our slip there, I would run up the hill to the local drugstore/ice cream shop. In 1969, the owner introduced me to a new flavor - mint chocolate chip. Two nights later on July 20, 1969, I watched Neil Armstrong's historic walk on the moon as I was eating probably what was my 6th mint chocolate chip ice cream cone by then. I can honestly say I wasn't completely certain that summer which was more exciting - the walk on the moon OR mint chocolate chip ice cream !! (:0)=

Should I get the LG VX9400 or the new Blue Mint Chocolate phone and why?

Which of these is a better deal? Best answer gets 10 points!

Should I get the LG VX9400 or the new Blue Mint Chocolate phone and why?
Get the LGvx9400. I have had mine for over 1 month now and I know that it is way better then the chocolate. My girlfriend got the chocolate the same time and she likes it but is having problems with it because the buttons are very sensitive. It all depends though. The LGvx9400 is a nice phone and I like it but it's not the best for texting but about the same as the chocolate. The LGvx9400 is the mobile tv phone so if you like watching tv it is great, but if you just want a phone for an mp3 player then you might wanna go with the chocolate. I hope I was able to help you and good luck.
Reply:if you're not in a vcast mobile tv area the vx9400's main feature is pretty much useless for you and you're paying for something you won't even use. I'd probably go for the chocolate or the env as it's a better phone really. good reception wise and feature's available to you.

produce cooler, usually on a top shelf w/ other fresh herbs in little flat, clear plastic containers.

Where can i get mint sprigs?
In the fresh vegetable section of the grocery store near all of the fresh herbs such as basil, rosemary, etc...
Reply:ummm the grocery store, the produce section by the specialty herbs and in a package.
Reply:Most supermarkets( in the herb section) or you can buy the potted plant( most supermarkets have potted herbs also).

Pretty easy to get.
Reply:fresh herbs section of produce area. Consider growing your own. It is very simple.
Reply:I think the best way is to grow it yourself in a little pot in the kitchen. Any lighting, any amount of space or water. Mint is VERY easy to grow, in fact its invasive and dominant, so you have to trim it up or it will out grow its container.

Just buy a little mint kit at home depot and you will have a free endless supply to share with family and friends.

Why are some mint plants sweet while others are bitter?

friend its all depends upon the other chemicals that shows dominance in there flavour. If u extract the mint oil in a proccessed way , it will only show the mint flavour.

Apart from this all is like a vegitative character just like few plants are sweet and few are a little bitter. Right

Reply:I WOULD SAY MAX 100 BUCKS. WAIT 10 YEARS THEN TRY.
Reply:I wouldn't sell it. If you don't need the cash, then it is not worth selling. I think it is very disrespectful for someone to sell action figures of wrestlers who have passed away just so they could make more money. I am not saying that you are doing this, but people on eBay will do this and that is just wrong. There was one Eddie Guerrero action figure that was out of the package and bad condition and he was expecting $50 for it. This was shortly after Eddie's passing.

How can you tell difference between a EX graded sports card and a NR/MINT graded sports card???

Thanks for the info...Tom Science 4

How can you tell difference between a EX graded sports card and a NR/MINT graded sports card???
WELL A "EX" CARD MIGHT LOOK PERFECT TO THE NAKED EYE,BUT IF YOU LOOK CLOSE,IT MIGHT HAVE CREASES,NICS,STAINS,BE OFF CENTER OR OTHER IMPERFECTIONS.EVEN THE COLOR MUST BE PERFECT.

A "NR/MINT" CARD WILL DO LOTS BETTER IN THE UP CLOSE EXAMINATION TEST.THERE WILL BE ALMOST NO IMPERFECTIONS IN THE CARD.THAT INCLUDES ALL OF THE ABOVE THINGS MENTIONED AND LETS DONT FORGET THE COLOR OF THE CARD AS WELL.

I HAVE SEEN CARDS THAT APPEAR TO BE PERFECT,BUT GRADED LOWER BECAUSE COLOR OF THE CARD WAS A LITTLE OFF FROM THE REGULAR CARDS.

How much would the original X-Men comics fetch in mint condition today?
E bay is the only real option. if you sell to the comic shop they have their own overheads to cover. I would check the back of wizard magsine and start the bidding at half the listed price.

Whatever you do do NOT take the highest quote from your answers print it off and take it into a shop with the comics. you will be guarenteeing a no sale for being (removed to avoid report of abuse)
Reply:I have seen in auction for only x-men no1 go for up to £6,000.

After the first i think the second is about £3,000 and it deprecates onwards to about £500 for issue 50 and £100 for issue 100 and so on.
Reply:about 2 to 5 pounds each
Reply:It all counts on who you are planning on selling too, but if you want the most money try selling them one at a time on e-bay or go to a comic convention to find out if some one is missing a issue of some kind he can't find
Reply:Depends on the Individual Issue really, If you have a Mint copy of Issue 1, and I mean really mint, it could sell for up to £1000+, and thats just that one comic, but like I say it all depends on what issues you have

What should i do for drying vegetables (parsley,mint..)after washing them?

after seprating bad parts from good parts of pasley we wash them.the problem is that we have to wait for a long time to let them dry then putting them in refregirater.(cause if we put them wet in refregirator they will be spoiled am i right?)

What should i do for drying vegetables (parsley,mint..)after washing them?
you are right they can spoil if wet, however if you have room in your fridge you can stand them up in a container of water- this is what we do in restaurant kitchens.

i wouldn't use paper as for drying as it is wasteful and bad for the environment. You can buy a lettuce dryer (aka salad spinner) which are made of plastics so they are also bad for the environment but you only do it once so it's not as wasteful

Reply:You mentioned herbs -- parsley and mint -- with these types I am assuming that you do not grow them with herbicides or pesticides or fungicides, right? If so, then just chop them up and put them in the freezer in little baggies. That way you only take out what you need. If you purchase them from a grocery store, then make sure they are grown pesticide- and fungicide-free. When you get them from a store, they are usually already cleaned, so just shake the water off and repackage. If you really want to dry them, then tie butcher's twine around the stems in bunches and hang upside down, away from drafts and away from direct sunlight. With herbs such as these, they should be dried in a couple of days, possibly even about a week. Then, crumble and put into reused and cleaned spice bottles. Putting the herbs in the fridge damp with water will not spoil them any quicker.
Reply:I wash my vegetables and fruit, then put them on a towel and gently pat them dry.
Reply:i dont know thats a really good question. i do know that my mom would know. she is the head chef at the Fatz Caffe in Blairsville Georgia. You should go there. Order the steak its really good. But ill get back to you on that one. Shell know the answer!
Reply:after washing them put them between layers of white paper towels to soak up excess water. set oven to lowest temperature for 15 minutes, set your parsley or mint on a cookie sheet, place in oven, turn every 15 minutes. once dry, put into clean containers
Reply:Blot them dry and place them in single layer on a few sheets of paper towel on a cookie sheet in a warm dry place like the top of your stove, anyplace that is not too humid like a bathroom or laundry room will work just fine.

Why does chewing mint gummake water taste cold?

its so annoying to drink water while chewing mint gum cause it gets so cold in your throught

why? haha

Why does chewing mint gummake water taste cold?
Because, my dear, chewing gum contains menthol!

"Menthol? What's that?"

Hahaha! I'm glad you asked! Menthol, also known as Menthomenthol or peppermint camphor, is a chemical capable of tricking your senses into thinking the temperature has dropped where it has been applied. This same chemical also has a pleasant mint taste, which is why it is used in gum!

In a purer form, menthol is used as a topical analgesic in products such as IcyHot as well as many non-prescription medicines for sore throats.

"Wow! What a fun chemical!"

Yeah, it's really COOL.

Hahahahaha!!!

Put the mint leaves in a heavy saucepan with the milk. Bring to a bare simmer, remove from heat, cover, and let stand for 30 minutes. Strain the milk into a bowl and reserve. Clean the saucepan.

Combine the heavy cream, 1/3 cup of the sugar and salt in the clean saucepan and bring to a bare simmer. Whisk the yolks with the remaining 1/3 cup of sugar in a large bowl. When the cream is hot, very gradually pour it into the yolks and sugar, whisking vigorously at the same time so the yolks don't curdle.

When all the cream has been added, return the whole mixture to the saucepan. Heat slowly just to 170 degrees (or when it coats the back of a wooden spoon). Pour into a large metal bowl and add the reserved, mint-flavored milk.

Cool over an ice bath and allow to chill in the refrigerator for 3 or 4 hours.

Churn in an ice cream machine according to instructions. As the churning finishes, add the cold chocolate chips. Freeze 4 hours or overnight.
