Yes, switch to a high quality dog food such as Canadae.
Bad food = bad breath and stinky poop
Is there any good way to get rid of dog's bad breath beside brushing, mint or dental treatment?
there are dog treats out there that are for cleaning and freshining breath, you could go to the pet store and ask the peple there and see what they say
Reply:There is usually different types of food that you can feed your dog that controls their breath.
Reply:What are you feeding your dog? Is it wet or dry food? If it's wet, tarter can build up on their teeth and cause dental issues, as well as bad breath. If your feeding your dog wet food, make sure your giving your dog biscuits to help loosen up tarter.
Reply:Nope. Bad breath is due to bacteria in the mouth. My dog chews on lots of things to help his teeth, but I have found that only regular brushing will eliminate doggie breath.
However, I use the special doggie toothpaste that is chicken or beef flavored, so he loves to get his teeth brushed.
Mind you, I don't like to brush his teeth, because he tries to lick the brush, as I try to brush his teeth... but he thinks that it is a very tasty game.
Reply:Yes, my basset hound was on the BARF (Bones And Raw Food) diet for years. His teeth are white white white. He eats four fresh RAW chicken wings every day. The crunching bone is great for cleaning the teeth.
Reply:The first thing you should do is ask the dog's vet why his breath is bad. There could be a digestive or other health problem. The dog may also need his/her teeth cleaned by the vet.
In the meantime, try adding a little "probiotics" to your dog's food; you can get this powder at a health food store, humans can use it too. If you are feeding your dog nothing but canned food and kibble, try some fresh food, try giving him/her fresh cooked food such as carrots, peas, green beans, cooked in fresh - not canned - chicken broth, along with the chicken, and you can add some rice too.
You can also go all the way and try the raw diet for dogs, but do your research on how to feed properly, google "BARF diet" (stands for Bones and Raw Food) and make sure you check with the vet too.
Reply:Better food and a raw soup bone a week.
P.S. Listen to Debbie H :)))
