How long does my mint seeds will take to grow?

About two weeks is what I remember, but the folks at Backyard Gardener say 7-10 days to sprout (germinate).

From there it just keeps growing as you trim the top for leaves.

Mint does not always grow true to type from seed,Ask your friends and family if they have a root off their plant you could have. you could collect several different types of mint all for free.
Reply:Mint seed will germinate within a few days
Reply:Its really not necessary to use seed,as breaking any bit with a root on it,from a friends patch will grow quite easily.Just yank it out of the ground
Reply:Don't do it except in a container. Mint is like an invasive weed and once it starts growing you can't hardly kill it.
Reply:Depending on the time of year, I planted some organic seeds 4 weeks ago and they have just started to shoot up, though once mint starts to show its shoots, it grows quickly and spreads easily. Best to keep in a pot
