Why does chewing mint gummake water taste cold?

its so annoying to drink water while chewing mint gum cause it gets so cold in your throught

why? haha

Why does chewing mint gummake water taste cold?
Because, my dear, chewing gum contains menthol!

"Menthol? What's that?"

Hahaha! I'm glad you asked! Menthol, also known as Menthomenthol or peppermint camphor, is a chemical capable of tricking your senses into thinking the temperature has dropped where it has been applied. This same chemical also has a pleasant mint taste, which is why it is used in gum!

In a purer form, menthol is used as a topical analgesic in products such as IcyHot as well as many non-prescription medicines for sore throats.

"Wow! What a fun chemical!"

Yeah, it's really COOL.

Hahahahaha!!!
