Are mint leaves edible? Are there different types?

I like to eat mint leaves they taste good. And when I got tea from this place they gave me mint leaves that had smoothe edges the only ones at 3 different stores I could find were raged edges. Are there smoothe edged mint leaves? Those tasted better...

Are mint leaves edible? Are there different types?
there are different types of mint, spearmint is what you are referring to, they do have both smooth and serrated edges, they are edible, i use them crushed in my marinade for shish kabob, you can also use them in mint juleps...several bruised mint leaves, a teaspoon of sugar, 1 1/2 ounces jack daniels, ice and top off with spring water...delicious in the summer...you can get really good mint at penzeys spices...check them out on the web, i get all my spices from them...when the bottles are empty you can get refills in bags, fill up the bottle and put remainder of the bag in the freezer to keep them fresh
Reply:Yes they are edible, my aunt have them in her garden
Reply:Very edible. There is even a chocolate mint.
Reply:yes, and I use them for mojitos. Try this...

take a handful of fresh mint, 1/2 a fresh lime, and 1/4 cup brown sugar. Squeeze the lime into a glass, then throw the peel in there too. Add the mint and sugar, and smash it around in the bottom of a glass. fill with ics, and then fill with rum (preferably dark). Add a dash of bitters (comes in a bottle that looks like worcestershire sauce, made by Angostura), and enjoy. Repeat.
Reply:Mint is edible. I have eaten peppermint and spearmint leaves myself.
Reply:Yes no doy!

You can grow them everywhere you want!!!!!!!

Reply:I do know that mint leaves are edible. Here in KY around the time the Kentucky Derby rolls around, you'll see a ton of fresh mint at the farmer's markets. You boil the mint leaves with sugar and you make a simple syrup for mint juleps. My mother-in-law has a ton of mint planted by her koi pond and she never has had a problem with bugs (i.e., mosquitoes, flies, gnats).
Reply:Yes mint leaves are indeed edible. That is why they put them on your plate at restaurants. They cleanse the palate after a meal. Be careful about planting them in your garden as they are harmful to some animals.
Reply:Yes they are edible, many many people eat them.
Reply:They are edible and there are many different kinds of mint: spearmint, peppermint, pineapple mint, chocolate mint, etc. Try a good gardening place.
Reply:edible and good for your breath
