Does anyone understand where they get the answers from .....
I was watching it last night and found myself oddly addicted just because so many what I presumed to be thickos phoning in with ridiculous answers..
Like last night add the numbers
44 Ninety-six and 80 ??
Can sombody enlighten me how this works or is it just random number calling ??
How do they work out the answers on ITV Mint!?
a specially trained chimp organises the Qs and then he presents the show! also,i can only presume the callers to the show are clinically brain dead, and rich !it costs A POUND to call the (zoo)show, u pay if connected or not,and the minute you are "live" u have to forget your name and mutter at random the completely wrong answer for the 19th time in row.the Q being 1 x 1 is= A%26gt; is it a small 4 x 4 car? NO sorry but a good guess though. LOL
Reply:Dunno mate i reckon its all a con. I rung up 35 times in 1 hour and i didnt get through once. The worst thing was my answer was there but no-one said so i could've won 20,000 if they botherd to let me through!! Oh yeah those 35 calls cost me 25 quid!!! Theres one word for me SUCKER.
Reply:I too have watched this before and wondered the same. You would think that the answer to this is 220 but I bet someone phoned in and said that and they said it was the wrong answer. This will then lead to others phoning in with any random number, all of which will be wrong, all of whom are paying about £300 a minute or something to answer.
I recently saw an article in a newspaper about some people spending £500 a night calling into the programme and are now becoming addicted. Apparently, you can enter for free via a website which is something that they have to offer by law but they never publicise this. It is often shown in very tiny print briefly a couple of times throughout the show. Not that I sit and watch it all the time, of course.
Reply:I don't know, it's infuriating! I sit there screaming the answer at the tv then when someone calls with the same answer I had it's wrong??? Having said that, how do people come up with the answers they phone in with? 38+100-3=? and someone will phone and say 'Is it 5?' Derrr..........
Reply:the blonde presenters do- they even work out the numbers and move around in circles to peeve you off while waiting for a doofus to call in to answer a simple question that the rest of the nation that have no thought capacity could have answered to 2+2.... could it be 12, 200, brrrrrrrrp- wrong answer... think of something else- here's a clue.... now they're virtually giving it away... (whisper... (4)!... oh now the phones should be making some noise!! What a dumb programme for dumb viewers who are suckers!
Reply:I asked about something like this on here about the number puzzle that was before this one (44+ Ninety Six + 80) and.......
.......well, you have a look and see how it was worked out :-
Reply:The phones have got to be on a filter system so they only pick out people who are drunk, drugged or just plain brain dead.
Reply:They get a pool of all the possible answers and pick out 25% obvious answers and the remaining 75% are completely stupid!
Reply:It's all a complete fix. I have also found myself strangely addicted to it. I'm sure it's something to do with the amount of calls they get - like after they've made a certain amount of money from calls, they let someone win. I think the answers aren't set and it just depends on how many calls they've received.
One time they had one of those rounds where you have a word and you have to ring in with a word that would come after it. For example, if their word was top, you might ring in and say 'hat' or 'table' or something. Anyway, on this one, people were ringing in with really good answers and nobody was getting anything. Then they had this power round or something where the next person with the right answer gets double the money. Anyway, someone rang in and said the most stupid thing ever - it wasn't even a real word (Seriously - I was so annoyed I even checked the dictionary!!) and they won.
It's all a complete and utter fix and I think people should STOP RINGING!!
Having said that, I heard that watch dogs were saying that they would have to reduce the cost of their calls.
