It is worth $4 to $6 in circulated grades. It is an item that has more of a historic value than a monetary one. 1944 the U.S. got back on it's feet and did a number on the Japanese and Germans. Your coin could have been in the pay envelope of some gal building a tank or B-29 bomber. It is an item to hold onto for it's value will go up over time but it is worth more as a family thing. Values are about what a dealer would pay.
Reply:Of course it depends on if you can find a suitable buyer. These, along with other coins, are regularly sold on eBay at various prices. Also, the condition of the coin affect the price greatly.

I've listed some sites that might get you started, and check eBay also. Another thing, find a coin dealer in your area and get an appraisal. I don't think your are talking big bucks here unless the coin is un-circulated or something. In average shape, maybe 9 bucks. Hang onto it for the gift that it was, and maybe someday it will be worth lots more to you, or you can pass it on to your children or grandchildren.
