Is Mint Tea Safe to Drink in Pregnancy?

I have a love of Green Tea with Mint but as I am 6 weeks pregnant I know I have to lay off the caffine. What herb teas can I drink throughout my pregnancy, is mint tea safe?

Is Mint Tea Safe to Drink in Pregnancy?
My midwife told me ginger and peppermint teas were safe and also good for the tummy.

She also prescribed Red Raspberry Leaf tea in the last month of pregnancy to help tone the uterus and minimize bleeding after delivery.

Most doctors just advise you to check the herbs in the tea before drinking it. Certain herbs are contraindicated in pregnancy such as comfrey and chamomile.
Reply:Starbucks has a tea made by Tazo and its called REFRESH it was my lifesaver during pregnancy. Its caffeine free and herbal so you are good on that level. Also its great for morning sickness or whenever sickness as I called it cause it never happened in the morning. And you can buy it by the box its only 4.95 a box. Try it out its great
Reply:I used peppermint tea although some sources say not to. Many say it is safe and I have not seen any studies that say it is not. Generally culinary uses of herbs are safe, and most "herbal teas" sold in grocery stores are also safe as they tend not to be very potent. Of course moderation is key.

Some herbs and herbal teas are commonly used during pregnancy such as ginger and red raspberry leaf.

Reply:Green tea with mint has caffeine but a herbal mint tea should not because it doesn't actually have any tea leafs in it. Just read the label carefully. Caffeine has to be listed if it contains it.
