Why the change in thin mint girl scout cookies? They used to have a layer of minty frosting inside on cookie.

Now, they have a mint flavored cookie with the same outer chocolate layer. They look the same, but are very different. It irritates me every year when it's G.S. cookie time, because I loved the originals so much.

Is there a cookie out there that's similar to the original?

I don't remember a minty frosted inner layer.Perhaps this is a regional thing.
Reply:There are 2 official Girl Scout Cookie bakers. Little Brownie Bakers has had the same thin mint cookies for over 30 years. I assume the same for ABC Bakers but I can't say for sure.
Reply:Others have told me that the Thin Mint is different. As they have never been my favorate, I cannot speak to the (so called) change. My son swears that they are different also. As mentioned in a previous post there are two liscensed bakers of the cookies, it might be a difference in them. However, I do doubt that, as the recipe is suppose to be the same.
Reply:The girl scout cookies never had that inner layer of mint. It is the similar cookie from Keebler- the grasshopper that had, and still has a mint layer inside the cookie.
Reply:They haven't changed since I started eating them (about 30 years ago).
