Is it okay if a hamster eats a breath mint?

First off it's my girlfriend's hamster and no I didn't give it a breath mint. Her brother is staying with us in our apartment for awhile and he's a real dumb@$$. He said he gave her hamster a breath mint and it ate it. This happened like an hour ago and the hamster looks ok but I was just wondering if anyone knew for sure if it'll be ok or not. My girlfriend is kinda worried about it and she's really mad at her brother so any help would be appreciated.

People can be very stupid with pets, especially if they belong to other people.

Look around inside the cage. Hamsters tend to build up/hide a little stash of food. They often fill up the pouches inside their mouths only to empty out at their hiding place. It's possible it hasn't actually eaten it yet.
Reply:No-the sent of the mint is too strong for him-the odor of the mint can affect him. Do me a favor and beat the living shiit out of that dumb fcuk.
Reply:Wow this is a first!!!! NOPE that is not okay to give her anything like that.

what a crazy guy!!! Thank God it wasn't Alkaselser
Reply:no not good at all tell him no never give a hamster that
Reply:no, he'll probably throw up and get sick =(

go 2 the vet
Reply:hamsters usually store their food in their pouch before really eat it. pick up your hamster like what we usullly do to cats -- pull the skin behind its neck. it looks like very cruel to hamster but yes, it will make it uncomfortable and hamsters will start to struggle 'spit/vomit' all the stuffs inside the pouch.

see if it throws up the mint?

although it may not be the best way... but worth a try.
Reply:just keep an eye on it if it looks sick take it to the vet
Reply:omg noooooo breath mints 2 a hampster is a deadly substance so spend all its moments 2gether wile u can
