What's a better Linux distro for new users, Ubuntu, Fedora, Mint or Mandriva?

I just wanted you guys to rank them for me cuz Im about to install Ubuntu, but then I took a look at Mint and it looks sweet, Fedora looks sooo sleek and Mandriva nice and easy... Could you guys rank them for me

What's a better Linux distro for new users, Ubuntu, Fedora, Mint or Mandriva?
Go with ubuntu, you can boot from the Live CD and install on your hard disk, OR you can just play with it from the live CD and never mess with your partitions. I would recommend installing it on a computer that you can mess with because it will be much more faster boot, and running. Plus you can download new Linux only software. I used Ubuntu for a while and it is nice.
Reply:Ubuntu, would be my 1 st choice if I wasn't using Linspire v6
Reply:I started out using RedHat (Fedora - and too difficult to get to work properly) and moved onto Mandrake (now Mandriva). I left Madrake because I really didn't like RPM-HELL! From Mandrake I installed Mephis - easy, and I really liked that. There were some issues within the Mephis community that didn't sound promising for Mephis' future so I moved on to Ubuntu, and that has been what I have been using for the last 3 or 4 years - pretty good stuff there!
Reply:For someone stsrting out in Linux, I'd rank them this way...

1) Linux Mint. It's basically Ubuntu with additions to make it easier to use.

2) Ubuntu. It's becoming the go-to distribution of linux right now.

3) Fedora. It's an offshoot of Red Hat, which has good (paid) support.

4 Mandriva.
Reply:any ubuntu based distro is great I use linux mint for all the preinstalled goodies it saves me a lot of time plays dvds right out the box and its ubuntu based with access to ubuntus reposits my first choice and ubuntu would be my second
Reply:Try either Ubuntu or Kubuntu (same as Ubuntu but with the KDE window manager instead of Gnome). KDE resembles the Windows GUI more than Gnome does, so it may be easier for some to use.
