Is there an alabama mint for pennies?

I have a 1973 Lincoln penny but instead of P or D above the year, it has a picture of the state of Alabama and it says AL inside of that. I can't find ANY information anywhere about it. Could this be worth some money?

There are more U.S. mints than Philadelphia and Denver. There is San Francisco and West point. Now that is the mints just around now. The mints in the South were at New Orleans, Charlotte NC, and Dahlonega GA., these mints were long gone by 1972. You have one on the Lincoln cents that were made to honor all the states. It was done by a private company not the mint. Cents of the late 1960's as well as the 1970's were targets for all kinds of engravings. From teeth to pipes, go USA, as well as the states. They have Little collector value. The ones on war cents dated 1941-1945 from WW II are kind of scarce and are collectible. They have Navy Anchors or U.S.Arny on them as well as other war time themes.
Reply:only two mints Phili and Denver,,,,,,,,,, probably a souvenir penny , maybe from a statehood centennial
