What color tie with charcoal suit/mint green dress shirt?

I have an interview next week for a promotion at work. Because I recently lost a lot of weight, my clothing collection's a little thin at the moment. I want to wear a charcoal grey single-breasted suit with a mint green pinpoint oxford shirt, but don't have any ties that go well with this combination. Any tie color suggestions? I want to stand out, because they're interviewing several candidates, but want to remain conservative, as I'm in law enforcement, so they're not expecting Mr. GQ.

What color tie with charcoal suit/mint green dress shirt?
That shirt color is a poor choice. Go with a nice conservative white shirt. Then wear a striped tie with grey and blue in it. Otherwise you will stand out for the wrong reason. Let your personality and your credentials stand out instead.
Reply:I hope you get the job. You will look very nice and polished. (Don't forget to shine your shoes.) Report It
Reply:I'm def seeing a dark green almost hunter green and better yet with a small design with matching mint color . Solid color works though.
Reply:Charcoal or Black.
Reply:black or grey would match well
Reply:charcoal, cause the suit is charcoal, the two charcoal would look outstanding
Reply:Honestly, if you're trying to stay conservative, a mint green shirt might seem a little bit off, and the best way to stand out would be to look well put together. Since you did just loose a lot of weight, it's time to invest in some new clothes, so you can show off your new look. Try a look such as a thin blue pinstriped shirt and a charcoal grey herringbone tie, or go a little bit more bold with a logoed tie, such as a navy Band of Outsiders tie. By avoiding a solid white shirt, you'll already have half of the other candidates beat. The most important thing you can do as far as presentation is to make sure your clothing fits. Make sure you visit a tailor if you're wearing an older suit, and don't waste money on new clothes if older clothes can be altered by a tailor. Hope you get the job!
Reply:You could get a tie in a complementary shade of green to go with the shirt.

That's a popular trend these days. It would probably look really sharp.

And good luck with the interview!
Reply:perhaps a darker shade of green or something with thin stripes. Black works, too.
Reply:I love the color pink of course with anything green, but a yellow or blue will stand out as well.
Reply:i attended business college and we had to take a course in professional development. i will share with you some interviewing attire ettiquette. first of all the mint green shirt is going to be a no no. I would go with a simple crisp white shirt and dark tie with a small amount of design on it. if your really wanting the green color then i would purchase a tie that has a min amount of green in the tie. stay conservative and classic. flashy doesn't always pay off. Your credentials are what need to shine. Good luck. Hope you get the job.
Reply:Black
Reply:Dark green tie, with some black low-lights in it
Reply:Black or a Dark green tie. The contrast between your light colored shirt and the dark tie will look good.
Reply:Black.
Reply:black
Reply:Agreed. Black is good.
Reply:a simple black with green would go well

or just plain black

it would contrast nicely with the green

and match the charcoal
