You could cover it in polymer clay, or glue/decoupage cool magazine pictures to the outside of the tin.

Since the Eclipse writing on the lid is dimensional though, you'd probably have to apply (then smooth out) an underlayer of raw clay, then add the final layer, to make your top smooth.

Reply:You can do a piece of punchneedle embroidery and put that on the top of the tin, then take a piece of felted wool to cover the edge of the top of the tin.....or you can paint the tin a solid color and then use stamps to make a design......or you can cover the top with scrapbooking paper and then make a small album by measuring the inside of the tin, making sure to note that the corners are probably not square, but rounded, decide how many pages you want, 5-7 will be plenty, measure cardstock the complete length of the 5-7 pages, then fold at proper increments to create actual little pages that you can embellish however you like.....these make great little gifts for all ages and all occasions........
Reply:This was my favorite when I was a kid:

Cut a hole in the bottom of the tin that is little larger than the width of your finger. Put cotton all over the bottom except for where the hole is. Color the cotton right around the hole with fake blood. Insert your finger into the box, and arrange the "bloody" cotton around it so that it looks like it is a cut-off finger lying in the box. Close the lid. Go up to friends and say something like "Look what I found on the ground" and open the box. You will get lots of great reactions!
Reply:My favorite is mini-altars. Put in a picture of a god, saint, someone you admire. Mini candles, glitter, shiny things.



Or cover it in fabric; make a ribbon handle and viola! Mini purse!
Reply:you could make a photo album inside, a mini purse, or a gift card/credit card holder (they fit perfectly) or maybe put a picture of your girlfriend lol inside

you could also open it up and use it as a base to build something on, kind of like a pop-up book.
