Is it safe to take a caffeine mint before practice?

I have a 5:30 a.m. practice and I have breath mints called zingos. They have caffiene in them. Is it safe/ok to take one in the morning when I wake up for practice? What kind of things could happen if I do this?

Caffine aids in dehydration. Other than that I think you'd be ok. I would never suggest that my players do that though. I'm an assistant coach in a DII school in Pa.
Reply:Dehydration will definitely be a concern. Try some orange juice or protein shake instead.

Reply:Bad idea. Wake up earlier and drink some water. Maybe some OJ for the vitamins or eat a bananna.
