Selling price for mint and any aromatics ?

I'm trying to figure the profitability of using a land to grow mint. The thing is I have no idea how much you can sell mint either leaves or in essential oil.

Anyone would know if there is some kind of market or at least a range of price ?

Thanks!

Selling price for mint and any aromatics ?
Mint eh, tricky and costly to startup. Generally unless you live a place that essential oil crops are common (co-op stills) you will need your own still. That install and operation (including the loss due to inefficiency if you have a poor model) can really hurt you. Mint is not any easy crop. Field mint and garden mint are very different problems. That said there is almost no market for leaves, you will need oil. The only fresh market may be the organic food side, and thats not my aria of experience. These are questions you may what to ask an extensions guy about. I expect that you will need some help.

First link, for cost estimation info.

Second, for USDA figures for commodity prices (mint is listed).

Third, Acreage and yields in Oregon for mint

Fourth, a sales site for a second tier distributor.

Fifth, some field culture info.

Sixth, get some help
